Just Your Average Week Around Leipzig

Next week we have very important visitors coming from Texas so Bella and I have been trying to get our work done in advance. On Saturday Bella tried out for a dance class and was accepted....there were seriously "try-outs".....a few children were asked to leave. This is Germany folks, so that kind of harsh judgment is run of the mill. Bella's music class also began this week however her teacher was ill so things won't get started til next week.

Site is back Up!!!!

I have not been able to post new photos or text for the last three wekks due to internal problems with this website. It seems as though they have taken care of the problem now. Below you will see what we have been up to for the last three weeks...including many photos.

Another big bike trip

This time we biked through the Saale-Unstrut region. It is known for rolling hills, vineyards, castles, and fruit trees along every path. We stayed overnight in a Tee Pee. Bella had a wonderful time. She loves traveling and is always comfortable in new surroundings.

Our first BIG bike trip

In August we went on an adventure with our friends Katherine and Allen to visit a Cornfield labyrinth and a 12th century castle....And really just to enjoy the country side by bicycle.

During our first break we stopped for ice cream and Bella really worked the crowd. A grandma and Grandpa sitting at a table near ours gave her two shiny tinsel pom-poms which she promptly used as accessories.

More Cooking

Cooking and reading....that is what we do. We have read to Bella everyday since the day she was born and once longed for the time when she would bring us a book and sit on our laps. Since her first birthday, when she learned to walk, she has been a real book worm. Now, however, she is so eager to read that it’s tough to get things done around the house without stopping every few moments to read a new book. We go to the library twice a week to bring new material into our home. She also takes time to read to all of her animals and babies while we scramble in the background to wash a dish or two.

BUT....once she sees that we are washing dishes she insists on helping (or supervising, depending on her mood). She helps to make breakfast every morning. After Brian has left for work she often says, “clean!”....and points to the kitchen. Her first task involve clearing the dishes off of the coffee table and bring them into the kitchen. She does this very carefully.
